2024-2025
We have hit the road running this year! We welcomed all our students, new and old to school for another year of fun and learning.
Our new Junior infant class is settling in very nicely and we are delighted to have them join our school.
National Ploughing Chapionships
We had the delight of bring the students from 5th and 6th class to the Ploughing Thursday 19th September. Students and pupils had a great day looking around at what the Ploughing had to offer.

2023-2024
Last Day Fun!
End of year Mass and Bake Sale
Thank you to Fr Roche for celebrating mass for us in the school yard. The day was glorious and the children were incredibly well behaved throughout.
The bake sale was amazing! The children were busy baking and decorating delicious cakes, buns and biscuits for the event.
We also were able to harvest and sell some of our vegetables also- lettuce, garlic chives, chard.
Graduation 2024
A huge congratulations to our 6th class students who Graduated yesterday at school. They have finished their learning journey with us and we are incredibly proud of the people they have become. Best of luck and best wishes in your future endeavours.
School Sports day
Junior Classes School Tour
Our junior classes went to Fota Wildlife Park. They were blessed with good weather and had a wonderful time. The highlight for many was the free cup of hot chocolate compliments of Brock from Badger and Dodo! The children were beside themselves with excitement!
Senior Classes School Tour
It’s that time of the year again… School Tour time!
Our students from third to sixth class went to Kilfinane Outdoor activity centre. They enjoyed bushcraft, river walk, climbing wall and much more. They had a great time and here is a sample of their day.
First Holy Communion
We had a lovely service on Saturday 25th May in the Queen of Peace church in Fermoy to celebrate the First Holy Communion of seven of our students.
Congratulations to them all, and a huge thank you to Fr Eamon Roche , Miss Buckley, Serena Burton, Claire Geary, Mr O’Sullivan and the Clondulane NS choir.
Cork City Sports
We had a great day at Cork City sports yesterday. The children ran their socks off and should be very proud of how they performed. They represented the school with great sportsmanship. Well done everyone 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Lismore Castle Visit
Our 5th and 6th Class students were extremely lucky to be granted a tour of Lismore Castle. It was a fabulous day out, and everyone got to see one of the most beautiful Sights in Ireland.. from the inside! Here is a sample of what we saw.
Lamb Visit
Mr Sheehan brought his pet lamb to school. She was a great hit! The children were besotted. They got to name her Sammy. It was great fun.
Tidy Towns
Our 3rd and 4th class students, supported by Fermoy Tidy Towns Volunteers, did a very effective litter pick in Clondulane Village on Wednesday 22nd May.
They did a fantastic job and showed great enthusiasm. Well done everyone!
Lord Mayor Visit
We were delighted to welcome the Lord Mayor of Cork Frank O’Flynn to our school. As a past pupil of the school it was a lovely experience for him to come and see how the school has changed over the years.
The children were treated to no homework for the night in honour of the visit!
Scholastic Book Fair
What a wonderful event! There was a fantastic selection of books available, something for every taste. The Friends of Clondulane NS(PA) organised the event, a special thanks to the parents who set up and manned the desk for the week.
School Quiz Night
We are so delight with the Quiz Night organised by our very hard working Friends of Clondulane NS (PA). It was a roaring success! We had loads of eager students from local schools battling it our for top spots!
A huge thank you to everyone involved in the organising and running of the event.
Congratulations to the winners from Gaelscoil de H-Íde who were on fire on the night.
GAA Blitz
Our 3rd & 4th class students went to Fermoy to compete in Hurling and Camogie Blitzes. They played really well and gave it their all. Well done everyone👏🏻👏🏻
We took part in a slogan competition organised by Tusla regarding school attendance and it’s importance. Well done to all our wonderful artists and writers. All the submissions were excellent and it was very difficult to chose 2 entries to go forward to the next round.
Well done to our students who travelled to the community games competition in Castleisland recently.🏅🏅
April
Gardening
We were incredibly proud of all our students who participated in the Gardening with Mary Barry on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The classes were planting seeds and seedlings of vegetables and flowers and the senior classes made climbing frames for the peas to climb. We can’t wait to see the fruits of their labour.🫛🥕💐
Junior Entrepreneur
Our 5th and 6th class students were visited by Mr Brian O’Sullivan founder of Zeus packaging as part of the Junior Entrepreneur programme. He was very impressed with the work they has put into the project. 👏🏻👏🏻
March
Easter Egg Hunt
Many thanks to the Friends of Clondulane NS for organising a really fun Easter Egg Hunt for all the students in the school. The children had a great time searching high and low for the delicious treats!🍫🐣🐰
Cork City Sports Qualifiers
We ran our qualifiers for Cork City Sports before the Easter break. Well done to all who qualified. Everyone gave it their all and should be very proud of their efforts.👏🏻👏🏻
St Patrick’s Day celebrations
We had a great time celebrating Seachtain na Gaeilge and in preparation for St Patrick’s Day by having a Lá Glas on Friday. The children dressed up in green and we had fun and dancing to celebrate.☘️☘️☘️
World Book Day
Our fabulous students dressed up as characters from their favourite books on World Book Day. They looked amazing and were very creative in their costumes. 🦸⚽🫅🏽
Well done to our 5th & 6th class girls participated in the FAI schools soccer Blitz. They were brilliant and gave it their all! 👏🏻👏🏻⚽
Well done to our students who participated in the Racquetball Irish Junior Open 2024 in Fermoy & Mitchelstown.

💖💖Valentines Day 💖💖
The children in the Junior room were very busy making Valentines Day cards for their lucky loved ones.
Pancake Tuesday 🥞
The children were treated to delicious pancakes prepared and cooked by Serena and Claire. The smell in the school was amazing just like to pancakes!
St Brigid’s Crosses
We celebrated St Brigid’s day by making St Brigid’s crosses. The results were brilliant. Well done to all the students on their hard work.
January
Hairdresser Aistear 💇🏼♀️💇🏽
Our Junior room students were learning all about the Hairdressers this week, from construction to cutting hair everything was covered!
Our hair will be in safe hands!!
Arctic Aistear 🐻❄️🐧
The children in the Junior room were learning about life in the Arctic through Aistear. Looks like fun!❄️🐻❄️☃️🌨️
4th Class Hurling Blitz
Well done to our 4th class students who took part in the hurling blitz in Mallow this month. They won their 3 matches! 👏🏻
Maths
Mr Sheehan’s room were doing their maths on the Laptops. They used Polypad on Mathigon for maths.
December 🎅🏽☃️
We had our school concert in the Halla on Wednesday. The children were fantastic! We were so proud of all the work they put in to learning the words and actions. Well done everyone👏🏻 .
The Student Council organised a bake sale on the day and made €443.15! The money will go towards a laptop trolley for the school.
Some of our victorious Fermoy GAA Hurlers came to the school to present GAA equipment to the students and give the children a chance to have a photo with the Cup. 🏆

Our 3rd and 4th class students gave very impressive presentations of their AI generated images. Great imaginations!
A huge congratulations to our past pupil Amy Burton on winning first prize in her category at Teen Turn Scifest in Dublin with her project on Quantum computing in the Renewable Energy Industry.
Junior Entrepreneur
Our 5th and 6th class students did a fantastic job selling their products to our very own Dragons in Clondulane’s Dragons Den.
Science Expo
Well done to our very busy 5th and 6th class students who gave a wonderful Science Exhibition.
Congratulations to Mr O’Sullivan and his team on winning the Cork County hurling final on Sunday 3rd December. 🎉🏆
November
We had a very busy November! Here is a sample of what our students got up to for the past 3 weeks.
Our Junior Room Students were learning about different professions and Medicine was the topic of this day- doctors, nurses, ambulance personnel and receptionists were all included.
Barnardos came to give a talk to students from 3rd to 6th about internet safety. It was a fantastic talk and gave the students much to think about and watch out for.
We are incredibly lucky to have Jo Reen come to teach the 5th and 6th class students how to knit. Thanks so much for your time and patience.
We had a visit from the Mobile Library. The children were so excited with their choices. It was a lovely opportunity for the children to get new books and they should be calling every 3 weeks when possible.
We celebrated Friendship week. The children performed small random acts of kindness then wrote it on a note and put it on our board. They were all very invested and Clondulane was a better place for it.
October
Halloween was fabulous fun at Clondulane NS. We all got dressed up and here are some of the wonderful costumes.
How heavy is the Pumpkin!!
We had a guess the weight challenge. It was a little too heavy for the children but we had some very close guesses! Mr Sheehan weighed it at 49.5kg and here are the closest guessers!
On Friday 13th October we held a fundraiser for Special Olympics Ireland. Children dressed as their own Superhero. We collected €165.30 for the very deserving charity. Well done everyone, thank you for taking part.🦸🦸🏻♀️
Four of our 6th class boys were in the Fermoy team who won the U12s final.

The Junior Room were busy learning all about Space for Space week, building rockets and drawing Aliens amongst other things!👽🚀🧑🚀

Nature walk
Our junior room students went for a Nature Walk during the week. 🍁🍂🐿️
We are back! We welcomed 11 wonderful new students to Junior infants and 4 new students to other classes in the school. We are settling in well to the year and here are a few photos of our September so far.

June
6th Class Graduation
Our 6th class students were very busy preparing for their Graduation. It was a lovely occasion attended by family and friends.
We wish you happiness and much success in your future endeavours.
Ice Cream treat
We had a visit from the Ice-cream van to cool us down. They went down a treat!
School Tours
We had great fun on our School tours this year. The junior infants to 2nd class students went to Let’s Go in Mallow and the 3rd to 6th class students went to The West Cork Secret in Kilbrittain.

4th Class GAA Blitz
Careysville House
We had a wonderful day out at Careysville house in May. A beautiful fishing lodge on the outskirts of Clondulane Village. Huge thanks to Sarah O’Loughlin, Manager, and all the staff for the welcome we received and the wonderful tour of the house.
GAA Skills Competition
Three of our 6th class boys attended Pairc Uí Caoimh on Thursday to participate in the Sciath na Scoil GAA hurling skills competition. Well done boys, you were great.
Cork Day
We were privileged to have Cork hurler Niall O’Leary at the school yesterday for our Cork Day. The students were thrilled. There were tips and signings in the wonderful sunshine.
First Holy communion
Congratulations to our students who made their first Holy Communion in the Queen of Peace church in Fermoy last Saturday. A special thank you to Fr Eamon Roche, Ms Buckley, Serena and Claire who were involved in preparing the children for the sacrament. A special mention to the Servant Sisters and our School choir who sang beautifully on the day.
Gardening
Our Junior room students were busy filling window boxes with Ms Leahy this week. They had wonderful green fingers!
Ducklings
We had great fun when Mr Sheehan brought his ducklings to school for the children.

Our students have been busy with GAA training at school.
Confirmation
Our 5th and 6th class student received the Sacrament of Confirmation on Wednesday 26th April. The made the school proud with their participation in the ceremony. Congratulations to you all.

Easter
Our Junior room students were busy making beautiful Easter art.
St Patrick’s Day Award Presentation
We had a wonderful day on Tuesday when we had the St Patrick’s day parade Grand Marshall John Murphy and the Judging committee in the School to award the trophy and NO HOMEWORK for the week!
Brix 4 Kidz
We had great fun last week when Brix 4 Kidz came to the school for some Lego building fun.

World Book Day
We had dress up today for World Book Day. Great characters and books were celebrated with a wide range of costumes on the day. Well done everyone, you looked great!
Spring
Spring has sprung in the junior room. The students have been very busy learning about spring and creating wonderful works of art.
Open Night
We had a great night on Thursday 9th February when we invited all prospective new students to come and see our school and meet our teachers. We thank everyone who helped out on the night, many of our current students came to meet and greet, The Friends of Clondulane were there with Refreshments and treats.
Mallow Indoor Hurling Blitz
Well done to our students who played their hearts out in the Mallow Blitz.
St Bridget’s Day was celebrated by students making St Bridget’s crosses.
We have been very busy with Arts and Crafts in 3rd & 4th class.
We Participated in Food Dudes this week. The Children we great at trying fruit and vegetables, some new, some regulars. Well done everyone.
Robyn and her Dad made a wonderful light up Christmas tree decoration for our school. Thank you.

GreenSchool
Members of Clondulane Greenschool committee discussing plans for Clean Air Week. They organised MoM (Move on Monday), WOW (Walk on Wednesday) and FFF (Fume Free Friday)
Fume Free Friday
As part of our Green School initiative members of our Students Council put up our poster to promote Fume Free Friday. Children are encouraged to come to school where possible by carpool, walk, cycle, scoot or park and stride.
Fermoy Credit Union Art Competition
All our talented artists from 1st to 6th class participated in Fermoy Credit Union Art competition and we had two winners. Well done everyone.

Friendship week
Our students participated in Fermoy Friendship Week by doing acts of kindness for family and friends, no act too big, no act too small. Well done everyone.
No Halloween celebration would be complete without a Fancy Dress Parade! Everyone had wonderful costumes and great fun was had.

Science class is great fun in 1st and 2nd class
We participated in Colman’s Blitz Thursday 29th Sept. Everyone played wonderfully and great fun was had. Well done.
The Fairies have moved to Clondulane! We went to the green to see the new Fairy Hotel organised by Clondulane Community Council.
Mr Sheehan brought 3 day old chicks to school in September much to the delight of our students.
Our Infants Classes went on a September colour walk.
Fire Drill
We started our school year with a fire drill! The children were brilliant and did everything right. Well done everyone.
2021-2022
Playdough fun with the Senior Infants
Our Junior room were busy learning about nature and digging up worms for their Minibeast Adventures.
The Class made clay worms after examining the live ones.
We are delighted to be recognised as a Discover Science Awarded School for 2020/21.
STEM and Science are extremely important and popular subjects in Scoil Mhuire Gan Smal. A huge thank you to Ms. Daly, and to all the boys and girls for all their hard work.
